imagecreatefromwbmp — Create a new image from file or URL

Beschreibung

resource imagecreatefromwbmp ( string $filename )

imagecreatefromwbmp() returns an image identifier representing the image obtained from the given filename.

imagecreatefromwbmp() returns an empty string on failure. It also outputs an error message, which unfortunately displays as a broken link in a browser. To ease debugging the following example will produce an error WBMP:

Mit dieser Funktion können Sie eine URL als Dateinamen verwenden, falls Sie fopen wrappers ermöglicht haben. Mehr Details dazu, wie Sie den Dateinamen angeben müssen finden Sie bei fopen(). Eine Liste der unterstützten URL Protokolle finden Sie unter List of Supported Protocols/Wrappers.

Anmerkungen

Hinweis: Die Unterstützung von WBMP steht nur zur Verfügung, wenn PHP mit GD-1.8 oder höher übersetzt wurde.

Warnung

PHP Versionen kleiner 4.3.0 für Windows, erlauben den Zugriff auf Remote-Dateien mit dieser Funktion nicht, selbst wenn allow_url_fopen aktiviert ist.

why has php not made a predefined function like imagecreatefrombmp yet? surely there's more demand for it than there is for the wbmp function

.bmp is just hex encoded RGB values.

All you need to do is open in binary mode and seperate the header from the body.

Decode the width and height from the header.

Then create the image pixel by pixel from the RGB values in the body.

for .bmp files, convert them with bmp2png, then you can use this files in gd

WBMP images are Wireless Bitmaps, not Windows Bitmaps. WBMP is used for bandwidth constrained, black and white, limited devices such as PDAs and Cell Phones.
